INGREDIENTS:
3 tbl margarine
1 lb tender young pees and pods
1 lb lamb or beef, coarsely ground
1 small chopped onion
2 cups of water
2 chopped tomatoes or 1 12 oz can of tomato sauce
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, black and white pepper
2 carrots sliced (or diced)
METHOD: Shell the peas and save the outer portions of the pea pods (by bending the pods in half causing them to split - peel of the soft portions after splitting).
Saute the onion with the margarine in a saucepan on medium heat until golden, then add the meat and all the seasoning. Stir it well for 3 minutes, then add the tomato sauce and water, and cook for 5 minutes. Add the peas and pods then let it simmer for 15 minutes. Serve hot with fluffy rice.
